Convenience, Consistency, Quality Services: Behind Our Investment In GetEase

The news is out! ASIF Ventures can add another impressive company to its portfolio: GetEase. GetEase has raised a €700k pre-seed round of financing, led by APX, Graduate Entrepreneur, Apex Labs, prominent angel investors, and, of course, ASIF Ventures. We are extremely excited to be part of the launch and scale of this company. Let’s take a look at how we came about our decision and how GetEase aims to disrupt the current industry.

  • GetEase is an on-demand lifestyle services platform that delivers high-quality services to your home, making the market less fragmented and more transparent with their platform.

  • GetEase is tapping into a growing global market for online on-demand at home services which is driven by the ever-increasingly busy lives of the modern consumer. Additionally, it gives freelancers in the lifestyle services sector a way to expand into the digital space, supporting them in finding new clients and helping with the backend of their core business.

  • The platform is founded by two ex-Googlers, who are the strong and all-round founding team to launch and scale the platform.

The team: on a mission to disrupt

We at ASIF Ventures find the team the most important factor in our investments. After all, teamwork makes the dream work! And with this team, it was a no-brainer. From the first time we met Ilona van Wegen (CEO) and Maurits de Cler (CCO), we saw a motivated, knowledgeable, and experienced team that has demonstrated to be excellent so far in launching the disruptive concept. With thorough experience in sales, marketing, and branding and a strong founder-market fit, we knew Ilona and Maurits were up to something great.

Our team was impressed when getting to know the co-founding team better. Ilona has both experience at Heineken, Google, and at a Venture Capital Fund. Maurits is extremely knowledgeable on sales branding, with his work at Google Netherlands, and in business development through his experience at Nestlé. The team furthermore consisted of highly talented individuals with a drive for innovation: Alexis Yuhasin, the CTO, who has extensive experience in IT at Apex Labs, Miro Hovius, the Growth Marketeer, focused on performance marketing, and Maya Blumberg, with the best people skills to support the platform.

Besides the team, the platform has already shown amazing traction: more than 100 service providers signed on, and a stable, loyal customer base within Amsterdam. We believe that this unique combination of experience, ambition, and knowledge enables GetEase to be a key part of the future of the services on demand.

Plug-and-play platform

Forget busy salons and waiting lines! Hairdressers, Manicures, Masseuses, or Personal trainers can now come to your doorstep with just a click. With Gorillas, Thuisbezorgd, and Amazon, we are already used to being able to order everything online and have it delivered to your door within a matter of days or even hours. Research and Markets© indicates that the on-demand lifestyle space is expected to grow to $4.75 bn. by 2026 at a CAGR of 61% during the forecast period. As the GetEase team clearly found out: convenience is no longer a luxury, but has rather become a necessity.

By prioritizing the date and time together with a guarantee of quality, GetEase aims to provide enough services to grow towards monthly relevance for consumers. But, it's not just the rise in consumer demand that is growing the industry. The marketplace model also perfectly ties into the wants and needs of the service providers. Besides expanding the clientele of service providers, GetEase helps them with services from insurance, to certifications and accounting support. As Ilona said: By setting up real partnerships and adding more value than just new clients, we believe that we can build sustainable working relationships with our freelancer service providers for the long term.

Having validated the MVP, GetEase is launching 2 user-friendly and scalable apps to fully cater to the needs and demands of both clients and service providers. The first allows users to seamlessly book their favorite services to the comfort of their own home, and the second offers service-providing freelancers a plug-and-play solution to grow their business into the digital world.

ASIF X GetEase

ASIF Ventures decided to invest in GetEase because we believe the service industry needs this disruption, fueled by the ever-changing complexity of a modern consumer’s life and freelancers struggling with uncertainty and lack the skills to effectively run their businesses in the digital world. GetEase bridges the gap between both parties.

As ASIF’s president, Quinty Vermeer, said: “We believe the highly experienced founding team to be the driving force to scale GetEase. The charming proposition speaks to the imagination and taps into the future of our society that we live in, jumping on the trends of convenience and the changed world post-pandemic. With the traction so far, we can only imagine the great potential GetEase has to offer.”

We are impressed by both GetEase’s driven and knowledgeable team, as well as the traction they have received. With the funds raised, GetEase will further grow in Amsterdam, and launch in Rotterdam later this year. We are excited to partner up with Ilona and Maurits, and cannot wait to revolutionize the service industry with them.

GetEase: Welcome to the ASIF Ventures family!
