ASIF Ventures is a venture capital fund that aims to nurture the next generation of student entrepreneurs. We provide early-stage funding and support to student and recent graduate startups, empowering them to bring their innovative ideas to life. We aim to bridge the gap between student entrepreneurs and Amsterdam's VC and startup ecosystem.

To achieve this mission, ASIF is seeking the most ambitious students and recent graduates to lead the fund’s future as board members for the 2025-2026 academic year.   • Do you have what it takes to lead a venture capital fund and shape the future of student entrepreneurship? As Managing Director of ASIF Ventures, you will lead the fund toward its mission of supporting and investing in the most promising student startups. You will be at the forefront of the organization, ensuring strategic execution, team cohesion, and stakeholder management.

    Responsibilities

    • Define and refine the long-term strategy – Shape ASIF’s vision and strategy while incorporating input from the team to ensure the fund's long-term success. 

    • Drive execution – Translate the strategy into project execution, collaborating closely with the other board members.

    • Lead and manage the team – Foster a high-performing, aligned, motivated, and positive work environment by coordinating weekly team meetings, feedback sessions, and team-building activities. 

    • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships – Cultivate long-term partnerships with key players in the startup ecosystem and lead the advisory board meetings. 

    • Investments focus – you will dedicate 50% of your time to investments, including sourcing, screening, due diligence, and term sheet negotiations and managing ASIF´s current portfolio.

    Responsibilities

The Marketing & Communications Director will be at the forefront of shaping ASIF Ventures’ presence within the VC, startup, and student ecosystems. You’ll be responsible for communicating ASIF’s mission, activities, and events (both internal and external) while crafting marketing strategies to keep our community engaged.  This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll get the opportunity to lead, innovate, and amplify ASIF Ventures' impact in the startup ecosystem, all while showcasing the unique stories of our portfolio companies.     Responsibilities

    • Shape and execute innovative marketing strategies that align with ASIF Ventures' mission and goals.

Position Details: 

  • Full-time position with 40 hours of work per week. 

  • Expected to attend events outside typical working hours. 

  • Other commitments are possible as long as they don't interfere with work/ working hours

  • Compensation of €800/month

Location: 

  • Based in Amsterdam

  • Ability to work and attend events in person is required

  • No requirement to have studied in Amsterdam

  • The board position officially starts on September 1st, 2025 and ends on August 31st, 2026.

    What do I need for my application?

    From when until when is the ASIF Board year?

    The official ASIF Ventures Board year starts on September 1st, 2025, and ends on August 31st, 2026, with a two-week transition period in the last two weeks of August 2025.     What is the team's level of discretion regarding the investment process?

    The ASIF Ventures Board has full autonomy over investment decisions, from sourcing and analyzing startups to negotiating term sheets and completing transactions. However, we also have a network of VCs, industry experts, and advisors who provide feedback and insights to help us make informed investment decisions.

    What is the time commitment required for ASIF Ventures?

    On average, we expect a commitment of around 8 hours per day, along with attendance at various VC and startup events that often take place in the late afternoon. While the schedule can be flexible, some days may require more time, particularly when signing a new startup deal.

    Are only the 6 Board members involved with ASIF?

    No, we also have a team of part-timers who form the Fellowship and who support us in our operations. Additionally, we have a board of advisors with whom we meet regularly, comprising people with extensive experience in Amsterdam's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
